Whether it’s learning to surf in Costa Rica or summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, adventure changes us, and everyone should have the opportunity to experience its transformational power.

The goal of Trailblazer Awards is to bring more diversity, representation, and gender equality to the outdoor space by making adventure travel and trekking more accessible, affordable, and welcoming for everyone.

  • The Carabiner Collective is an inclusive organization whose goal is to bring diversity to the adventure travel space and decrease the financial barriers of adventuring!

All applications are reviewed by the Trailblazer Award Committee on a rolling basis. Selected applicants will be asked to go through an interview process before awarded. Awards and grants are allocated based on merit and need, and there is no minimum or maximum number.

The Carabiner Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by adventure lovers who have experienced the transformational power of the great outdoors and want to share that with more people. If you’re interested in collaborating with us to make these epic outdoor experiences more accessible, we’d love to hear from you.

Dada

Gives our Tanzanian and Kenyan sisters (Dada in Swahili) the opportunity to climb Kilimanjaro. Sharing this experience with their community and other women from around the world will inspire and empower others for generations to come.

Rise

Makes life changing adventures and treks more accessible by removing financial barriers for students and adults. The goal of this program is to help bring more diversity and representation to the great outdoors.

Leader

Provides invaluable experiences, education, and opportunities to people working in the outdoors and tourism in their home countries. By opening doors and minds, the goal of this program is to help break down stereotypes and bring more equity to adventure travel.

BY THE NUMBERS

Our Trailblazers are on 3 continents and have climbed 2 of the 7 summits.

28 Trailblazers have climbed to the Roof of Africa, Kilimanjaro.
